Whippets

In the early 80ties we had two whippets, one racing dog and one show dog, for some time we have traveled from racing track to racing track to learn about that world too. In the town we lived in those years we trained our dogs for racing. The Italian Greyhound I had was the joker of the club, he started quick but when he had done a half track he stopped and crossed the track and waited there for the prey to arrive:) I found out that this world was not my world, training the dogs and to see them to go around the track was fun but I could not feel the same fanatism as the others. In fact I have the same with showing, I love to show but the welfare of a dog comes first.
To me every show dog is a pet first, should not be left alone the whole day and should not be closed in a bench for a big part of his or her life.
